I’m Rusty Smith, born and raised in Southeast, Idaho, where I grew up on a cattle ranch and developed a love for hunting and the outdoors at an early age. I’m a lifelong hunter and fourth-generation houndsman, with years of experience chasing everything from elk and mule deer to bears and mountain lions throughout the West.
Today, I work in the outdoor industry as a content creator, product advocate, and business partner, sharing gear and experiences that I genuinely believe make time in the field better. While archery elk hunting in September is probably where I’m happiest, hound hunting has also been a huge part of my life. Something people may not know is that I’ve been involved in mountain lion research and capture work, including work associated with the Teton Cougar Project, Idaho Fish & Game, and even some National Geographic documentaries.
